Synopsis :
Deux enfants, un frère et une soeur, sauvent un chien égaré dans les rues de Kaboul. Un soir, les deux enfants se rendent à la prison où est incarcérée leur mère. N'ayant nul endroit où dormir, ils sont autorisés à passer la nuit avec elle. Mais le matin suivant, ils doivent partir : la prison est un lieu pour les criminels, pas pour les orphelins errants. Voulant absolument retourner auprès de leur mère, les deux enfants entament une série de délits pour être mis en prison...

Du cinéma où la fiction rend la réalité plus ... "réelle". Interprétation des enfants remarquables. Belles prises de vue. Sourire et effroi, poignant. Très bon, et important à montrer.

I just saw the movie today on cable TV in Israel. It is visually stunning and amazing. The acting on the part of the children is amazing as well. I am in awe of the acting ability of the little girl how she represents for me the perseverance of the human spirit. But I am crying at the end because one cannot help but know that as much as she will survive on the streets as she had before and taking such care of the little dog, her fate is widely unknown, as is her brother's and her mother's in prison. I didn't want the film to end where it did. We want some sort of resolution, happy ending, some angel to come and save the kids. But we won't know. The ending for me represents the uncertainly of these homeless children. I so wanted to do something to help the little girl. But I had to remind myself too, that "it's only a movie". Still today I think I'm gong to feel sad all day, having seen this movie because it left an impression on my heart.
