This lecture explores the politico-ethical significance of global Korean cinema, highlighting Bong Joon-ho’s Memories of Murder, in relation to the works of his generation’s other key auteurs, including Park Chan-wook, Lee Chang-dong, and Kim ki-duk.
Seung-hoon Jeong is assistant Professor of Cinema Studies at New York University Abu Dhabi. He is the author of Cinematic Interfaces: Film Theory After New Media, and co-editor of The Global Auteur: The Politics of Authorship in 21st Century Cinema.
